Summary

Bladder Infection Treatment

Bladder infections are also known as cystitis and urinary track infections ( UTI ).  If not treated in time a bladder infection can eventually lead to a kidney infection.  Antibiotics do not always work on bladder infections.  Re occurring bladder infections and urinary tack infections that end up as kidney infections can cause damage to the kidneys and eventually lead to severe kidney damage.

Western Treatment for Bladder Infections

The typical treatment for bladder infections is to prescribe antibiotics.  Antibiotics can take between 7 to 14 days to work.  Unfortunately the number of antibiotics that are increasingly ineffective in the treatment of bladder infections is growing.  This is because of the development of resistant bacteria.

Antibiotics do not address the problem of reoccurring bladder infections.  Each time a bladder infection occurs antibiotics are proscribed and this may limit their effectiveness in future treatment.  If you choose to take antibiotics it is important that you take them long enough to ensure that they kill the infection (complete the prescription).  If the antibiotics run out before completely eliminating the infection it increases the risk that the infection will reappear.
